This article presents the results of research with regard to molluscs and bryophytes in two localities in The Netherlands. The first locality is an old ash-coppice stand in the Sandenburg estate, south of Doom in the province of Utrecht. The habitat is characterized by a high level of humidity caused by a heavy, basic soil. Here we found 41 bryophyte species and 22 mollusc species. Many of them are strictly bound to this type of habitat. The second locality is the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen along the North Sea coast. Here where we found 29 mollusc species; from this area 101 bryophyte species are known.
