HEAT-CONDUCTIVITY WITH SELF-REGULATED PULSE MAINTENANCE

摘要
A study is made of cooling of a rod whose ends are maintained at zero temperature. When the total amount of heat in the rod drops down to a given value, heat is instantly pumped into the rod. Thus, the instants of generation of heat pulses are not given in advance but are determined by the head-conductivity process itself. The distribution of pulse-generation instants is studied. The existence and uniqueness of ''simple'' (i.e., one pulse per period) periodic solutions with an asymptotic stability of sufficiently large period are demonstrated. Examples are given.
