The metaphors of the community. The purpose of a critical reading on the meaning of community in the optics of Zygmunt Bauman

This article examines the implications and significances of searching a sense about the communitarian experience in the framework of the liquid modernity. It highlights the opportunities, contradictions and dangers attached to the searching of the communitarian in those kinds of societies in which human networks become more and more fragile and brief. To develop that analysis, this article follows some of the perspectives and ideas developed by Zygmunt Bauman, a contemporary sociologist interested in discussing critically those topics against communitarist, liberal and cosmopolitical perspectives.
