摘要
This article presents partial conclusions of the research Monasticism, power and gender: reflections on the monastery of San Millan de la Cogolla in diachronic perspective (1076-1109/12271265), funded by CNPq and it has the main objective to discuss the references to monasticism present in the canons of Coyanza using gender category. These decrees, however, raise many debates because they were transmitted in two major ways, which present significant variations. Thus, this text is divided in three parts. At first, the focus is the transmission of the canons, in the second, a discussion of what was the Assembly of Coyanza, ending with a critical reading of the regulations about monasticism on the gender perspective.
