The objective of the research was to analyze the social management through information systems conducted by mayors of Zulia State, based on the theoretical postlude of Ruiz (2010), Cruces (2008), Velazco (2005), Abadin (2010), among other authors. The research was descriptive under a non-experimental design, transactional and developed in the specific field. 50 employees were taken as a non-probable sample assigned to the departments of social management of the five municipalities in Zulia State that have been developed through the use of computer resources. Observation was the technique established for data collection through a questionnaire survey consisting of forty-two (42) items with a response scale of five alternatives. The validity was obtained through the trial of five (5) experts. For the calculation of reliability was used Alpha Crombach that gave as a result 0.882 coefficient, being reliable. As conclusion was obtained that the elements of corporate management are highly developed, on the other hand, weakness was observed in the evaluation of social programs and the scope of the method. Information systems are generally updated allowing timely backup and recovery of data related to corporate management. However, it should improve the information recording of the obstacles presented in the application of projects and the disclosure of information obtained in official web sites or related institutions. Recommendations were proposed to overcome the weaknesses and reinforce the positive aspects of social management conducted by the municipalities that use computing resources.
