MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERS OF CORYPTILUM RUTILELLUM (WALKER) (LEPIDOPTERA: TINEIDAE), WITH REFERENCE TO ITS AFFINITY OF THE GENUS CORYPTILUM ZELLER

Morphological characters of the conspicuous tineid species Coryptilum retilellum (Walker, 1869) are described. The wing venation and male and female genitalia of the species are illustrated and described for the first time. Although the phylogenetic position of the genus Coryptilum Zeller, 1839 has not been established, it is inferred to be monophyletic with Tineovertex Moriuti, 1982 and Ishnuridia Sauber, 1902 based on male and female genital morphology. Distributional data of the species are also presented. The genus Coryptilum (C. retilellum) is recorded from South China for the first time.
