NOTE ON THE UNITARY IRREDUCIBLE REPRESENTATIONS OF U(N) IN THE SCALAR PRODUCT WITH THE NONINTERTWINING OPERATOR

It is shown that a discrete series of the unitary irreducible representations of U(n,1) by Gel'fand and Graev cannot be treated in the space of functions on the compact subgroup U(n) subset-of U(n,1).
