摘要：

The aim of this article is to present the main arguments brought forth in Ronald Dworkin's last book, Religion Without God. In this sense, firstly the author's considerations about death and immortality are analyzed. Then, in order to facilitate the work's comprehension, a brief overview of the concept of equality is given. The following points address the central thesis of the book, which is the treatment of religion as the right to ethical independence. Lastly, some of the arguments developed by the author are considered in the analysis of a recent decision of the Supreme Court, in an attempt to visualize their practical implications.
