摘要：

We report the preliminary results of a national study concerning hospitalized pneumococcal pneumonia. This study has been realized from novembre 1991 to july 1992. 128 patients were concerned ; among them, 70 % were male, 50 % smokers. Six patients (5 %) had a penicillin resistant pneumococcal infection including 4 women. All recovered. Global mortality was 11 %, related to the sexe (93 % males), tobacco and alcohol consumption (71 and 42 %). All these pneumococcal strains were penicillin susceptible. No relation appears between penicillin-susceptibility and mortality.
