摘要
E article stems from research results obtained in the project: Self-esteem and academic achievement, whose overall objective was to determine the relation-ship between two variables, students in the School of Nursing Poza Rica, Veracruz University. It was a correlational study with explanatory value, self-esteem was assessed with the implementation of the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. In terms of academic performance were obtained through semi-weighted averages of the transcript. As noted results regarding self-esteem, 19% of students have high self-esteem, in which 16% of students academic performance and good to excellent in 3% is fair to low. Which can be inferred from Rogers (2001) the importance of self-concept and positive self-esteem in cognitive and affective processes of students, hence the need to promote the university, his self-esteem.
