摘要
This article reports the research conducted in the School of Educcition at the University of Antioquia, concerning the problemic question about university professors teacher training process during the years 2007-2008, which presented a final report published as a book under the titled: "Being an university professor today". The article identifies the problem, the methodology and objectivies, us well as a summary with the final results regarding the need for the convertion of the university professor today. Similarly it also shows the way the publication is divided into two parts: The first part refers to the importance of a social pedagogy and its recognition as a humanistic and holistic philosophy for the university professor. The second part, identifies the work as a professional in its dual condition of a university professor and a professional in a specific area of knowledge. Gutideliness are offered for the transition of an academic performance profile to a holistic performance profile for the university professors and the professionals.
