Malignant melanoma metastatic to the tongue

week history of a rapidly enlarging mass in his tongue. The patient had a history of metastatic malignant melanoma of five year duration originating in the skin of his left shoulder. Histopathology of an incisional biopsy was consistent with the diagnosis of metastatic malignant melanoma. Our patient presented a very rare case of malignant melanoma metastastatic to the tongue, presenting with a rapidly growing tongue mass without any detectable cervical metastases. The clinical course is described and the literature reviewed.
