Intellectualism in the sociological characterization of Manuel Ugarte on Latin America

This paper examines the intellectualistic aspect of Latin-American modernist literary production. This focus is analyzed in the Argentine writer Manuel Ugarte's (1875-1951) work El porvenir de America Latina ( 1910). Our approach tends to provide some hints to sort out the diverse ideological fountains where from intcllectualism in "Literary Americanism" springs. We take into account Historicist Ugarte's focal view point on his description of Latin-American social components.
