摘要：

The theoretical basis for an objective investigation of speech behaviour of patients in a short-term couple therapy will be discussed. Presented are the results of an objective analysis of spoken language. The recorded total vocabulary of six couples in twenty-four sessions was transcribed into a computer file, which contains the data base of the study. On the basis of a quantitative analysis, the different language usage was compared and contrasted both between male and female patients and between patient and therapist.
