摘要
A semi-empirical Anderson-Newns-Grimley model is applied to consider the decreasing of the binding energy per atom in one-dimensional metal clusters on metal supports as a result of the adatom-substrate bond. Dimer, linear trimer and infinite chain are studied. The competition between the adatom-adatom and the adatom-substrate ineraction is revealed. A comparison with experimental measurements and other theoretical calculations is made.
