摘要：

Initially linked to the freedoms of the single market, the protection of personal data forms part of the fundamental rights guaranteed in the European Union. Through an evolutionary jurisprudence, the CJEU has contributed to the configuration of the concept of personal data. In this task, the Court has adapted to the regulatory changes and to the technological evolution. On the other hand, the new Regulation (EU) 2016/679 has updated the definition of personal data to take into account the jurisprudential contributions and new challenges arising from social and technical requirements.
