摘要
H-1 diffusion ordered spectroscopy is used to determine diffusion coefficients for 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (MEICl) in 0.8:1 and 1:1 AlCl3-MEICl melts between 20 and 45 degrees C. All MEI(+) diffusion coefficients (ring, methyl, and ethyl protons) are virtually identical for a particular melt at a given temperature. The MEI(+) diffusion coefficients are viscosity dependent and correlate with conductivities, indicating that the transport properties of these melts are determined by the molar quantities of salt and not by the properties of the individual ions. C-13 NMR correlation times are used with viscosities and microviscosity factors from a ''slip'' model to determine the radius of MEI(+).
