摘要
The eigenvalues of the Jacobian corresponding to the equations describing the dynamic behavior of a multicomponent distillation column are studied. An alternative estimation of the spectral radius is proposed and used to implement a policy to switch between non stiff and stiff integration method. Furthermore the sparse structure of the Jacobian is exploited to reduce computation costs. Comparative results are given using several multicomponent mixtures.
