摘要
This work seeks to explore the relation between adversative and concessive character from a double standpoint. On the one hand, a brief summary of all the theoretical approaches to the difficult task of explaining the remarkable similarities and differences among both is offered, as we also attempt to justify why Argumentation Theory is a suitable option for this purpose. On the other, the 15th century is presented as a period of change in the model of linking words used in both kinds of structures; this paradigm shift was influenced by several factors such as the nature of each text or its historical tradition. Our study concerns itself not only with the more traditional sentence-centered point of view, but also with that of larger syntactic units and less explicit contents (metalinguistic and inferential levels).
