摘要：

Advances in surgical techniques and intraocular lens (IOL) implants have greatly reduced the frequency and nature of complications after cataract surgery and IOL implantation. The new technology has also lead to a new variety of complications. In this chapter, we discuss the complications of cataract surgery but wish to emphasize that, overall, modern cataract extraction and IOL implantation is remarkably successful and carries a low complication rate.
