摘要
A survey of recently published, mainly experimental, results on the near-threshold fatigue crack behavior of metallic materials is presented. An attempt is made to analyze and generalize existing concepts and theories. Much attention is devoted to the following three subjects: physical features of near-threshold fatigue crack growth and appropriate test methods, near-threshold crack-tip shielding due to crack-lips wedging and crack-tip blunting, and kinetic hysteresis of near-threshold fatigue-crack growth.
