FROM BODY TO ANGUISH: THEORETICAL REFLECTIONS ON BODY'S STATUS AT PSYCHOANALITICAL CLINIC

Some clinical and theoretical challenges to psychoanalysis have been being imposed by a specific kind of suffering: those which are expressed by body. For this reason, the present paper aims to reach a further understanding on body's status at psychoanalytical clinic. Thus, it focus Freud's concept of anguish since we could take it as the signal of the inseparability between body and psychic apparatus. It starts by presenting Freud's conception on anguish neuroses to discuss three notions developed trough out Freudian work: body, sexual and anguish itself. It ends by proposing a clinical direction: if the clinical work with neuroses points to the possibility of unveiling symptom's unconscious meaning, the clinical work with body's suffering demands the possibility of including on clinical space something which is referred to a 'far beyond' of psychic apparatus. Something that psychic apparatus could only be notified of by anguish intervention.
