摘要：
A device and a technique for measuring the normal-reflection birefringence by compensating the orthogonal polarization component of the reflected beam are described. The device tests optical recording disks and is sensitive to a 0.4-nm phase shift in terms of the optical path difference at a wavelength of 633 nm. The error in detecting the principal-planes azimuth is 0.2-degrees.
