摘要
Stereotypic behaviors are repetitive behaviors and these behaviors have not social function. Mostly people with autism demostrate stereotypic behaviors although these behaviors can observe in people who have got different kind of reterdations. Generally automatic reinforcement maintenance stereotypy so these behaviors are diffucult to decrease. Various procedures are developed by researchers for reducing the stereotypy. One of these procedures is "response interruption and redirection (RIRD)". This strategy is used by Ahearn, Clark, McDonal and Chung first in 2007 to reduce the vocal stereotypy. Purpose of the study, review the RIRD researches. There are eight research are investigated and summarized in this study. All of the investigations' results showed that RIRD is an effective procedure for reducing the stereotypic behaviors.
