Field experiment conducted during 1986 and 1987 at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Shillongani (Assam) revealed that plant height, secondary branches/plant, capsules/plant and seed yield of capsularis jute cv. JRC 212 were higher when the sowing was done during the first fortnight of June. However, the seeds/capsule were higher in July sowings. Spacing had no significant effect on seed yield and yield attributes.
