摘要
Two models have been developed to predict transverse deformation and spread during sheet rolling. The asymptotic model (ASY) is an approximate method that yields analytical results, but contains a number of modeling restrictions. Short computation time is the primary advantage of the asymptotic solution. The lateral flow model (LFM) is a more robust numerical method, in the sense that more general constitutive and interface behavior can be considered. The two models are briefly described, compared to each other and to experimental data. The comparisons exhibit good agreement between the two models and between models and experimental data.
