摘要
Lyme-Borreliosis, a multi-system infectious disease, is endemic in the northern hemisphere. It is caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato which is transmitted via tick-bite. It predominantly affects the skin, the nervous system, joints and the heart. Diagnosis is primarily made on the basis of clinical symptoms and history talking and is supported by serological tests. Antibiotic therapy depends on the symptoms and stage of the disease and includes Doxycycline, Amoxicilline and Ceftriaxon as antibiotics of choice. Early disease is usually cured by the first antibiotic course, but late manifestations may need months till complete remission is acquired.
