摘要
In order to assess properly the issues of safety and reliability in the design of control rooms and Man-Machine Interaction (MMI) it is necessary to overcome the limitations of conventional static analyses. This can be done by using dynamic analyses which combine a simulation of the process with a simulation of the operator. The paper argues that the basis for a model or simulation of the operator must be a minimal model, which represents the main principles of control and regulation that the operator uses. The concept of a minimal model is discussed in detail. A specific minimal model, called COCOM (Contextual Control Model) is presented, and the principles that determine the model's behaviour are described.
