摘要
Introduction: With the passage of time the discipline of nursing has made significant progress, fostered by the development and dissemination of conceptual models that support their practice, for that reason is to determine the incidence of this advancement in nursing practice Health Mental and Psychiatric. Materials and Methods: Reflection article, which incorporates the literature on nursing models and theories that have been, used in the practice of nursing in Mental Health and Psychiatry and the nursing profession as appropriated this aspect in daily practice giving care holistic. Results: The main conceptual premises of the models and theories in literature consulted where it is recognized and conceives the human being holistically, to explore their experiences with the world, with nursing and as evidenced in practice are presented Nursing in Mental Health and Psychiatry. Discussion: It should enable the development of skills helps maintain the perspective of comprehensive and holistic care. Conclusions: Although there is very few publications in which the nursing practice in Mental Health and Psychiatry and the use of discipline in everyday practice knowledge to gain visibility. With this article is expected to nursing professionals, have a theoretical support that allows providing comprehensive care to the person with mental suffering, based on own conceptual references of Discipline.
