AMPLITUDE OF THE DEHAAS-VANALPHEN OSCILLATIONS FOR A MARGINAL FERMI-LIQUID

摘要
We investigate the suppression of the amplitude of the de Haas-van Alphen oscillations in a marginal Fermi liquid. We find that at high and low temperatures the amplitude is similar to that expected from ordinary Fermi-liquid theory, provided one expresses the result through the frequency-dependent effective mass of the marginal Fermi liquid evaluated at the temperature or cyclotron frequency, respectively. The nonanalytic nature of the marginal Fermi liquid is noticeable in the coefficient that describes how the zero-temperature value of the amplitude is approached at low temperatures.
