EFFECT OF S APPLICATION ON DRY-MATTER YIELD, CONCENTRATION AND UPTAKE OF N, P, K IN DIFFERENT PULSE CROPS

摘要
We studied the effects of S application on dry matter yield, concentration and uptake of N, P, K in guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba L.), moong (Phaseolus aureus L.), arhar (Cajanus cajan) and cowpea (Vigna unquiculate) crops, in a pot experiment conducted with two soils deficient in S. Sulphur was applied at 0, 30, 60 and 90 ppm as K2SO4 in sandy loam soils. Dry matter yields of different crops increased from 30 to 60 ppm S and at 90 ppm S level yields decreased. Concentration and uptake of N, P, K in sandy loam soil were higher than sandy soil. Sulphur application gave synergistic effect on the concentration of N, P, K at lower levels of S application and antagonistic effect at higher S levels.
