摘要
Two types of action of transition metals (nickel, chromium, manganese, molybdenum), used as alloying elements in steels, were investigated experimentally. The first type of action is of a thermodynamic nature and affects the mechanism of segregation. The second type is an intrinsic effect which results from the intergranular segregation of the alloying elements. The analysis of the results obtained makes it possible to calculate and to compare the contributions of the alloying elements towards the reversible tempering embrittlement of steels.
