NEW FOSSIL RESTS ATTRIBUTED TO ARAUCARIACEAE IN THE LITHOGRAPHIC LIMESTONES FROM THE LOWER CRETACEOUS OF MONTSEC (LERIDA PROVINCE, SPAIN)

摘要：

Ribbon shaped leaves with parallel venation from the lithographic limestones of the Lower Cretaceous of Montsec (Spain) are described. Male cones with involucral bracts at their base have been collected in the same beds. The cuticle studies of the fossils permit to conclude that they belong to the same plant, a conifer of the genus Dammarites. A new species D. coriacea is proposed and its attribution to the Family Araucariaceae is based on the presence of pollen grains in the male microsporophylls.
