摘要：

The present article aims to show what is the image of true believers constructed by the Brazilian gospel music, as well as to reflect about how the analysis of the transitivity process contributes to the construction of this image. For such purpose, the theoretical basis of Systemic Functional Linguistics, proposed by Halliday, is used. The analysis is based in ten songs of wide range in the gospel world.
