摘要：
This correspondence deals with the estimation of the time delay of a wide-band signal based on cross correlation of samples of the received noisy signals at two locations. The accuracy of the time-delay estimate is expressed explicitly in terms of the sampling period (resolution cell), the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and the number of samples in the data window. Simulations that confirm the validity of the estimation accuracy expressions for SNR as low as -6 dB for a 128-sample window are shown.
