摘要
The granules of organic or inorganic material contained in hornet comb are glued together by a cement produced by the adults via their saliva. This cement was found to enhance the comb stability, protect it against weathering and erosion, and render the comb resistant to various organic and inorganic solvents, while lending uniformity to the whole structure.
