摘要
The research aimed to evaluate the family concepts present in the master plans, to know what the children educators think about families of those children and if the value that they attribute interferes in the relationship between family and Pre-school institutions, and understand the historical changes of the family and discuss the role of the institution in Early Childhood Education with regard to the teaching of the concept of family. We opted for a qualitative research, the case study and the use of document analysis techniques of master plans for kindergarten institutions. The results elucidated that the concepts of kindergarten teachers about the children's families, are based on the nuclear model hindering the acceptance of new family configurations and the establishment of a relationship between these institutions and demonstrated the growing number of families whose configuration differs from nuclear. Concerning the education about family, it was found that activities that allow the child to express his actual family.
