摘要
The merits and the demerits of CO2 and YAG lasers are discussed, which are widely used for industrial applications. The laser oscillating at the wavelength between 1.05 and 10-mu-m with good beam quality can be superior than YAG or CO2 lasers. The possibility of IR fibers, of which losses are lower than that of SiO2 are also discussed. HF, CO, and COIL lasers can be better lasers for industrial uses in the future.
