摘要
This article summarizes key characteristics and tendencies in foreign language teaching in Europe. The author offers an overview of the common European concept for the study of foreign languages as a social privilege, which is part of the lifelong learning process. Special attention is devoted to the foreign language model and its functionality, as well as to the systematization of education strategies and language interaction approaches. The following types of communication problems are analyzed: authentic, teaching-related, and metacommunicative.
