摘要
Epilepsy centres are referral centres specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with epilepsy and related disorders. Besides the clinical epilepsy program, epilepsy centres also focus on teaching and continuous education for healthcare professionals, caregivers and patients. Epilepsy centres can specialize in epilepsy surgery or care and rehabilitation of mentally and physically handicapped patients with epilepsy or both. In addition, epilepsy centres can focus on children, adolescents or adults. The following article will focus on the special requirements of epilepsy centres taking care of children and adolescents who suffer from epilepsy with special emphasis on epilepsy surgery.
