摘要
Load Management during the peak load period or under an emergency condition, is a challenging task for most operating electric utility organizations. Accurate short term localized load prediction helps to prevent unnecessary overload on equipment as well as load loss or load shedding. Advance knowledge of the predicted load at a specified location enables an operating group to perform the necessary remote and local operations including dispatching of the crews to perform load transfer or other operations as required. Under the extreme emergency conditions, shedding of the non essential loads (like air conditioning and/or water heating loads), can be performed in a timely manner if the predicted load is known well in advance. This paper presents a method of predicting local load at a substation three hours in advance to perform the necessary operations.
