摘要
An earlier study has indicated that the techniques of factor analysis and model reconciliation can be used to greatly increase the reliability of pulp quality test data. This increased reliability is achieved through an in-depth understanding of the relationship among handsheet properties, optical properties and intrinsic fibre properties and how these interrelationships change with time. The analysis techniques used in this earlier study have been combined with the on-line measurement capabilities of Pulp Quality Monitor (PQM) to provide continuous on-line prediction of strength and optical properties. A prototype analysis system has been installed in a TMP mill producing news grade from Scandinavian spruce. The results from the prototype system, covering over two years of operation, indicate that these techniques are highly effective in the on-line prediction of strength and optical properties.
