NONLINEAR EXCITATIONS IN POLY(PHENYLENE VINYLENE) AND POLY(DIACETYLENE)

摘要
We calculate the depths omega-0/DELTA-0 of the intragap states and binding energies epsilon-B of a variety of non-linear excitations in poly(phenylene vinylene) and poly(diacetylene). The results indicate a series of defect-pair annihilation processes relevant to non-radiative decay of the polarexciton. They also show that the dependence of omega-0/DELTA-0 on soliton-confinement parameter gamma is quantitatively different from that given by the Brozovskii-Kirova relation.
