摘要
By use of the generalized phase-integral approximation of the mode depth function and representing the square of the depth function as a sum of slow-varying and fast-varying components, a concise expression of the average intensity in an ocean channel is obtained by smooth averaging the intensities over range and depth. This expression is not divergent and will degenerate into the Brekhovskikh, Smith, and Weston one when the frequency approaches infinity. The caustic corrections in the vicinity of the source and its conjugate depths and the contributions of inhomogeneous waves are discussed and the numerical results for the linear, bilinear, and canonical channels are given. © 1990, Acoustical Society of America.
