摘要
The paper presents a unified methodology for analysis, design and implcmention of AI based software modules, like expert systems for production planning, quality control and preventive maintenance, for the factory of the future. both large- and small-balch oriented. The functions of a CfM shell based on AI techniques are explained as a tool-box supporting design and implementation of a distributed controller network, each controller consisting of several cooperating expert systems. Besides the general methodology, a special case of a knowledge-based workcell controller (AIPLANNER) is elaborated in more detail. AIPLANNER is a dynamic schcdulcr for the surface mounted devices (SMD) workccll in electronic mass production. © 1990 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
