摘要
If ion exchange between the compact and the diffuse parts of the electrical double layer (DL) is absent, polarization of the DL is determined for the most part not only by concentration polarization of the diffuse part, but also by polarization of the Stern layer by the mechanism of bound counterions. A specific feature of the latter mechanism of polarization is the dependence of the critical frequency of low-frequency dielectric dispersion (LFDD) on the concentration of electrolyte. Studies of this dependence allow us to evaluate the coefficient of lateral diffusion of counterions adsorbed in the Stern layer, the energy of this adsorption, and the surface density of charge in particles.
