POLARIZED RAMAN-SPECTRA OF NABI(MOO4)2 CRYSTAL AND ORDER-DISORDER EFFECT IN SOLID SCHEELITES

摘要
Polarized Raman spectra of NaBi(MoO4)2 single crystal were measured in the range 20-1000 cm-1 at room temperature. Factor group analysis has been performed to determine the symmetries and nature of the observed modes. From our measurements we conclude that the phonons above 300 cm-1 originate from internal molybdenum-oxygen vibrations and those under 200 cm-1 from external vibrations. The results obtained are interpreted by assuming microscopic composition fluctuation and the order-disorder state in the crystal lattice sites occupied by Na+ and Bi3+ ions.
