摘要
As part of a wider study to assess the potential of quartz optical dating in accurately estimating the age of fluvial samples from a range of important geological and archaeological environments, two samples from Tattershall, Lincolnshire, U.K. were dated. The preliminary optical dates are in good agreement with other absolute dating techniques and geological interpretations, demonstrating the potential of quartz to provide chronological information over a wide time range for fluvial sand samples.
