David Goodblatt's Elements of Ancient Jewish Nationalism is one of a recent studies to stress the ancient Jewish origins of modern nationalism. challenges the effort to equate modern and ancient nationalism by briefly contrasts between the two, including the differing resonances of antiquity modern and ancient contexts.
