REDUCTION OF K-42 RADIOACTIVITY IN THE PRIMARY COOLANT CIRCUIT WATER OF PRESSURIZED WATER-REACTORS BY CONTINUOUS BYPASS PURIFICATION

摘要
The effect is estimated that the design and operating parameters of an ion-exchange facility would have on reduction of radioactivity in the primary coolant circuit water. Whereas the K-42 content is reduced with increasing resin volume and increasing throughput, the potassium and ammonium ions present in the water act in opposition to such a decrease. Under the WWER-440 conditions, a lowering of K-42 radioactivity in the primary coolant circuit water by a factor of 2 to 3 will be achieved.
